If you’re thinking about getting a cleaner, cost always has to be a factor. He or she will need to keep on top of your cleaning tasks without running out of time. Conversely, you won’t want to pay a cleaner to visit too frequently, or you’ll feel like your money is going to waste.
At Efficient Cleaning, every one of our clients is an individual, and we’re committed to ensuring that everyone gets great value for money. When we initially meet you, we’ll tell you how many cleans we think you need. Here are some of the points to consider.
Your Home
The most obvious thing to consider is the size of the property. A one-bedroom flat and a five bedroom house will offer different advantages and challenges. Similarly, a house built 5 years ago will be different to a listed building, and we’ll have different types of rooms and items to clean.
In general, a typical 3-bedroom semi-detached property will take about two hours to clean, top to bottom. If you have a conservatory, an en-suite or any unusual features (such as very high ceilings), we may factor in more time.
The Occupants
When we look at cleaning a property, we don’t just look at its size. We also look at the occupants, both human and otherwise!
Homes with pets require different cleaning tasks, from removing pet hair to cleaning up stray sawdust round cages. The more pets you have, the more time we will allow to give everything a really good clean.
If you have young children, we’ll probably spend a bit more time cleaning, compared to a home with adults and teenagers. This won’t affect the quote much, but it’s important that we know how you’d like us to approach cleaning their rooms.
Your Lifestyle
If you’re an outdoorsy family, you’re probably going to bring in slightly more debris from outside. If you work from home, you will notice that your recycling bins fill up quickly. The way you use your home will affect the tasks we plan in.
You can help us a lot by keeping the home as tidy as possible between cleans, so we have fewer things to put away when we arrive. A general declutter makes our job easier, and it also means less cleaning time is needed, since there’s less to dust and move around.
How Get a Custom Price
Typically, our clients pay for one or two hours, once or twice a month. All of the above factors will affect the cost we give you, though, and it usually ends up costing less than clients expect. The biggest bonus is the amount of time that’s saved; imagine having a clean house every week, and not having to give up your evenings to clean? That’s the benefit that a regular cleaner can offer.
